A few days ago I was babysitting a three year old girl. When I was putting her to bed I asked her why she slept with all 75 of her stuffed animals. She said, “because no one deserves to be left out.” Her love GMH.
I was babysitting a 3 year old girl named Keeley. I went over wearing sweat pants, had my hair up, and swollen eyes from crying all night. She took one look at me, ran, and jumped into my arms, gave me the biggest hug and said, “you look so beautiful today!” Keeley’s comforting words GMH
When my little brother was about to turn 8, my mother asked him what he wanted for his birthday. “I want you to stop smoking,” he answered, very innocently. My mom hasn’t touched a cigarette after that, it’s been 5 years since then. Daan GMH.
The other day I was at a water park. There was a little boy there around 1 or 2 and his parents weren’t really watching him. He wandered out into the street. A boy about 12 years old, ran, picked him up and carried him out of the street so he wouldn’t get hurt. He had never in his life met this little boy before. Kids like that GMH.
I’m 16. My dad has physicaly, and mentaly abused me. To get away from him I ran to the store. I walked up and down the isles, crying. I was approached by a little 6 year old boy who told me, “You are beautiful, and beautiful girls shouldnt cry.”
I’ve smiled ever since then. Kids like you. GMH.
My best friend was killed in a car accident recently. Last week, I was in Florida with my 5 year old cousin. He was looking at seashells and found one and ran over and said, “Here. It looks like an angel wing, so now whenever you see it, you can think of your friend. The one that died, but shouldnt have.” He smiled and ran away happily. He GMH.
Although I’d consider myself a nice person, I’m overweight and not particularly pretty, I lack self-esteem.
I asked my 6 year old cousin what she wanted to be when she was older.
She said, “I want to be just like you,” gave me a huge smile and a hug.
I nearly cried. Abigail, you give me hope.
Today, I was babysitting a 4 year old boy.
I was upset because my boyfriend had made me cry, and didn’t care. Andy opens the front door, carrying a bat.
I look at him, and he says, “I’m gonna go hurt the jerk who hurt you. You’re like my big sister, and I love you.”

My younger brother, who I only see twice a month, once asked me to teach him the alphabet in sign language.
After working hard all day, he had mastered it. My dad later told me that a new girl came to my brother’s school and was deaf.
It made him sad that she had no friends, so he wanted to reach out to her. He was only six. My baby brother GMH.
Last night, our dorm had a prom.
Three of my best friends and I went out to eat all dressed up before the dance. There was 5 year old boy sitting next to us in the restaurant.
He looked at us and then said “They’re so pretty!” He made our entire night. KGMH
My mom and I were in the car talking about doctors at her work.
We had began to talk about surgeons when my six year old brother said from the back seat, “Mommy, THEY SHOULD SEND THEM TO AFRICA!”
When we asked him why, he just smiled and said, “Because. They need some help right now.” KGMH
The kids were playing dodgeball and my lil buddy, who was 5 and has high functioning autism and ADHD, was playing.
One of the older kids grabbed the ball out of his hand and chucked it at the other team.
All he did was grin ear to ear & shout “that was the best throw ive ever seen!!!!!” Patrick GMH.
My neighbor had his hands and feet amputated a year ago due to illness.
He is 9 years old. His friends and their abilities to overcome the disability and play outside like nothing had ever happened amazes me.

My brother was just talking to me about his girlfriend.
I asked him if he would break up with her for the girl who won the prettiest girl in the world contest.
His response? “I wouldn’t have to break up with her. She would be the winner.”
He is only 5 years old. His young love gives me hope.
She was talking about what she wanted to be when she grew up. Guess what she said?
“I want to be a kid doctor so I can help the kids in Africa live longer.”

I was stressed out and sitting in the Ronald McDonald house in California trying to eat dinner with my mom and dad.
I didn’t look good that day at all. A little girl looks up at me and says “Mommy I wanna look like her!” She GMH
The night after my surgery, I visit home. I lay crying in my room. My 4 yr old baby brother comes in, silently crawls into bed with me and asks me why I’m crying.
I explain how I had a baby, but now my baby is gone. He’s all quiet for a bit and then whispers, “Jo, don’t cry. I’ll be your baby.”
I walked in and the mother said, “Lucas has been waiting for you all day! All he’s been talking about was how beautiful you sing.”
Lucas smiled and said “Mommy, she’s a professional!” Lucas, you GMH
She played with my notes and laptop for quite a while before I found out that her father had just died and her mother is on welfare.
She asked if she could “do college” someday too. I said, “Absolutely.”
I work in a preschool in a classroom for students with special needs.
One of our students has weak mouth muscles so she often drools a lot without noticing. I took her to the “regular-ed” classrooms where she sat on the rug.
One boy noticed she was drooling and took her bib and wiped her chin for her.

Today, my little sister was ripping up a piece of paper into tiny sections.
On every single one of them, she wrote something she was thankful for.
She threw them out the window.
When I asked why, she said “So that God can see them”.

This weekend we went to a Halloween party
There was a special needs child who wanted to play with the other kids, they ignored her.
My wonderful 13 yr old daughter played with her the whole night, getting her food, helping her wash up and keeping an eye on her.
I was so touched by this selfless act.
One day, as I was caught up in my problems, two kids handed me notes.
I opened them up inside it told me all the wonderful things about me.
It made me feel better about myself and brightened my day.

At my high school, they played “Party In The USA” over the loudspeaker to advertise a teacher pageant”
A blind special needs boy started dancing.I was afraid people would laugh as they gathered around.
The music stopped and the surrounded people clapped for him and complimented him. His face lit up.

My four year old cousin is very shy and won’t talk to anyone except her parents and siblings.
I was having a bad day when they came to visit, I guess she noticed because she found some paper and markers, and spent most of the time they were at my house at the table drawing.

At Christmas last year we went to a Chinese restaurant with my three year old cousin, Erica.
The restaurant was decorated and there was a Father Christmas statue.
I was looking after the small children and I took them to see the statue.
Erica went up to it and said “Thank you, Santa. Could you give presents to the poor kids too next time?” She GMH.
My younger cousin has cancer.
He was going to meet Miss America.
When his mother was telling me about this, my other younger cousin looked up at me and said…
“But Ashlee, I thought that you were Miss America?”
She put a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. KGMH
Last week I was walking my daughter Ember to school. We saw a young boy of about 7 bulling another little girl. Ember pulled away from me, yelled at the boy and took the girl’s hand and said “wanna be my best friend?” The little girl has down syndrome. Ember’s thoughtless kindness to Lydia GMH.
