I was crying after a bad day.
My three year old brother came into my room and cuddled in bed with me.
When I didn’t acknowledge him, he went out to the kitchen and came back with an ice cream sandwich and his favorite stuffed animal.
He put them in bed beside me and petted my hair. His love GMH
Today, my cousin asked me what cutting yourself meant.
I told her, and she started crying and said to me, “I want to find everyone single person who’s that sad and hold them until they feel better.”
She’s 8 and gets bullied in school alot. And she cries for all the other people in the world.
My daughter was born when I was 16, and from birth I’ve had total custody.
She is 8 now, and complains that her friends talk about their moms.
The other day, she said, out of the blue, “Daddy, I don’t care if I don’t have a mom. I would rather have you any day.”

Today I was babysitting for a 5-year-old and a 7-year old.
The 5-year-old is really afraid of thunder. When it started to thunder, I was surprised when she didn’t come ask me to lay in her bed.
I went to check and saw her big sister cuddling with her and telling her that thunder was just angels bowling. GMH
Today my son told me he had to draw a picture of love for school.
A bit later he handed me his drawing. I looked down to see a crudely drawn picture of a smiling woman.
Shyly, he told me it was me. I said “That’s very nice honey, but you were supposed to draw a picture of love.” And then…
“I did.”
I have a back problem and may need surgery.
There’s a pretty high chance I’ll be paralyzed for life and I had been crying for hours thinking about it.
Suddenly my little brother who’s 9 came into my room and told me, “Please stop crying, I’ll stay with you for the rest of my life and push your wheelchair.”

Once he was all tucked up, I went to give him my usual hug goodnight.

As I walked by them, I noticed one of the boys had prosthetic legs and stub arms. I heard him yelling, “I NEARLY CAUGHT IT!”

Suddenly, the little girl fell and got a huge cut across her arm.
What did the boy do? He jumped off the see-saw, ran towards the girl, and carefully picked her up off the ground. Then he WIPED her tears and walked her to the nurse holding her hand all the way.

I live in a relatively small town, and my dad coaches one of the Pop-Warner football teams.
I had to go to practice with him one day, and I noticed that all the boys had pink shoelaces.
I asked one of them why, and he said “Tim’s mom has breast cancer. They’re pink for her.”

My 5 year old son Joey was in a fight at school and I had to go get him.
Once we where in the car I asked him what happened. He explain that the other boy involved had hit this young girl in a wheelchair.
Joey said, “Mommy we always have to stand up for people who can’t do it themself.” He GMH.
At dinner last night, we were talking to my little brother about how some people have nothing.
Then my brother said, everyone has something. I asked him what that was.

Today my cross country team was officiating for a junior high meet.
There was one boy with a mental disability and was halfway through the last lap when everyone else was done.

As I was crying telling her on the phone that I would not be able to make it, my 13 year old brother wordlessly came and handed me all the money he had.

I was on my way to my room after playing Trouble with them when the little boy says “Your sister is awesome!”

Today I was being observed for my senior year of student teaching in a 1st grade class. I was scared, nervous and anxious.

As I was grabbing my water, I turned to see my nephew hand his banana to a homeless woman.

My 4 yr old son walked up to her and asked for a hug. She looked taken aback and asked him why.
He said ” my mama says to love those who hurt us because they’re hurting too.” He hugged her leg and walked back to me.

Today, while volunteering at a local daycare a boy who was about 6 asked about the scars on my wrist.
I simply told him I had fallen. He responded, “I like scars because they remind you of all the bad stuff you’ve done so you don’t do it again.”

He did a cover of “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars, and he dedicated it to his 4 year old sister who was born with special needs. He says she’s perfect just the way she is.

Today, a little boy ran past me, giggling wildly. His mother ran after him and I immediately thought, “Oh no, she’s gonna yell at him.”

I pulled a dollar out of his ear, and he said “cool!” and put it in a jar.
I asked what the jar was for, and he said “For kids who need warm clothes in the winter”.
